Malaysian dress, from kebaya to songket, painted as contemporary fashion.

Busana Malaysia is a 22-work series by Lihuà reimagining Malaysian dress (kebaya, Nyonya and Peranakan style, cheongsam, saree, songket and baju) as contemporary fashion illustration in watercolour and gouache.

It debuted as a solo show at Eslite Spectrum, The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur (13–30 July 2023) and travelled to China House, Penang (5 Aug – 3 Sep 2023), shown alongside the Galerie Martel Collection.
